Speaker A:

There is, unfortunately, no escaping physics bound by the speed of light. Even information must take its time to get birds going. And as we move farther into the void, that time grows until the distance becomes unspeakable.

Speaker B:

Yes, I know. I'm working on it. Yeah, just give me a moment, please. Yeah, I'll be right there. Hi.

Speaker C:

Sage. I'm sorry about that. I was sitting down to record for you and, well, things are a little busier than they were last time. Now that we settled in and travel further, there's more to do, more research to take care of, and charting out where we're going to explore next and making sure that we have all the supplies we need. It's very busy work. I know I've explained it to you before, and I'm not quite sure if you remember everything or if you were able to really understand the specifics. I know bioznology is not really your forte. That does remind me of your message. I listened to it several times when I got it. It's nice to hear you talk about your worst gen. I know you joke all the time about how I just kind of have my eyes gloss over when you get really into it, and maybe I have a few times. It's just not something that I really know much about or really understand. But I can tell that you're passionate about it and that you work really hard. And I miss it. I miss getting to hear you talk about your work, talk about making something as cool as apples, especially cross pollinating them to create even better versions of them. I miss getting to come home to you. But I know soon enough I'll be home. And for now, I have all your messages, so please feel free to talk about whatever you want. Sage. I would love to hear it. I want to hear I want to hear what you're doing. I want to hear what you're working on. It's so important to you, and it's still important to me. And this way I feel like we can still feel connected. I can tell you what I'm working on. Currently, we are around the asteroid belts, and we're trying to find the right place to land.

Speaker D:

There was a signal out here, a.

Speaker C:

Biosignature, and we want to investigate that more. I have a sample of it here in my lab right now that I've been examining. It's similar to some of the other biosignatures we found before. They have certain set of microbes in it and a little bit variety of.

Speaker D:

DNA that we haven't really seen before in most other human life forms, or.

Speaker C:

Even in some places that we've already explored already to see if there's living matter.

Speaker D:

I would say it's definitely alien, although.

Speaker C:

Not in the way that most people would expect it to be alien, because, of course, when you think of aliens, you think of like, little green men or just weird monstrosities with tentacles or whatever else people can come up with. I do enjoy seeing what kind of things people come up with. That's one of the things I miss the most, is just being able to really dig into the idea that people have of alien life.

Speaker D:

But this is still alien in its nature.

Speaker C:

It's not exactly the kind of biology.

Speaker D:

That we've seen before.

Speaker C:

And even if it is something as small as a parasite, it's still fascinating.

Speaker D:

It's still new and interesting. And this could help lead us on to something bigger and better. I'm so excited.

Speaker C:

I hope you're excited, too. I'll be sure to tell you all about my research and all about what we find out here. Even if it might take a while for the messages to get to you, it was a little hard to wait to hear your message. I'm sure we'll both be busy with our work, and that might make it easier to not notice how many days have gone by. I'll be sure to keep all of the messages you send me so that I can listen to them whenever I need to hear your voice. I miss you. Sage and I have been thinking about what to name our lizard. I know Blizzard isn't exactly the best kind of name for our lizard, and I don't want you to be embarrassed to talk to any of our neighbors or friends or family about it. I do hope you're seeing your family while I'm away, and maybe my family, too. You don't have to see my family, though.

Speaker D:

But I was thinking about a good.

Speaker C:

Pun name, and I have two options.

Speaker D:

You can tell me which one you like better.

Speaker C:

Okay.

Speaker D:

The first one is Isaac Newton.

Speaker C:

You get it? Newton.

Speaker D:

And that's better.

Speaker C:

It's clever, and it's not as strange as Blizzard. The second one is elizard Beth. elizard Beth? Come on. That's a pretty good one, too, don't you think? I've been working hard.

Speaker D:

But, you know, if you don't want.

Speaker C:

A pun name, I'm sure we can think of a better name for our lizard. And I can't wait to see the both of you when I come back home. But for now, the others do need my help with something, and I really shouldn't keep them waiting that long. I miss you so much, Sage. And I can't wait to come home to you. I hope this message reaches you as soon as possible and I get to.

Speaker D:

Hear from you soon.

Speaker C:

Tell me everything that's happening, everything you're working on, what you think of the names. Just whatever you need to tell me, okay? I shouldn't keep the others waiting, as much as I want to keep talking into this recording so I can talk to you even more. I love you, Sage. I miss you. I hope you're doing well. Until next time, my flower.

Speaker B:

Um.
